Joan from Houston, Texas writes…

"My ancestor, who was one of the Ancient Planters, is Robert Partin. I am interested in knowing how one becomes a member of the Order of Ancient Planters. I belong to the DAR and am familiar with the research needed to prove descendancy, but am not familiar with what is required of this Order. Does anyone have this information? Any assistance is appreciated."

Andrew from Anniston, Alabama writes…

"What a delight and honor to know that one of my direct ancestors was an "ancient planter" of the original Jamestown colony!
My direct ancestor was: Captain Thomas Gray who came to the colony in 1609 and survived 'the year of starving' as it is put. He married in 1619. His son was: Francis Gray.
Today's America could use more people like these!
